Verb forms are generally conjugated to reflect three different aspects: subjects, tenses, and moods. Subjects may exist in the singular or the plural, and may be in the first person (je, and nous), second person (tu and vous), or third person (il/elle and ils/elles). (See also: subject pronouns). Tenses include various forms of the past, present, and future. The term "mood" refers to the way verb forms reflect the attitude of the speaker toward her or his subject. In French, moods include the indicative, the subjunctive, the conditional, and the imperative.
